# Create an Independent Community

## Create an Independent Community

1\. If you have not yet done so, [Create a Community](https://docs.donatepr.com/communities/create-collective)

2\. Once your page is created, click "Start Accepting Contributions".

3\. Then select "Independent Community".

Or, an alternative way to achieve the same thing is to go to Settings > Fiscal Host. Here you can select "Ourselves" and then click "Yes, Activate Independent Community".
